The aim of this course is to familiarize 9-1-1 Telecommunicators with the fundamentals of Firefighting. This involves providing an explanation of the various types of machinery and equipment that firefighters use. In addition, Telecommunicators will learn some of the essential vocabulary used by Firefighters while on the scene.

Learning Objectives:

  1. The student will be able to explain early Fire Dispatch History and its significance in the development of modern fire services.
  2. The students will be able to describe common apparatus and list the essential Fire Service Equipment used in fire operations.
  3. The students will be able to list and explain key Fire Service Operational Terminology, enhancing their understanding of fire service communication and procedures.
