Discover how Psychological Capital (PsyCap)—comprised of Hope, Efficacy, Resilience, and Optimism—can enhance well-being, engagement, and performance. This session introduces research on PsyCap in high-stress roles, with a focus on public safety telecommunicators. Participants will complete a PsyCap survey for self-insight and gain tools to strengthen their HERO traits. A workbook with exercises will be provided for continued learning.

Learning Objectives:

  1. Participants will gain a foundational understanding of the HERO model (Hope, Efficacy, Resilience, Optimism) and its impact on personal well-being, job engagement, and performance in high-stress roles.
  2. Participants will complete the PsyCap Questionnaire (PCQ-12) to assess their strengths and areas for growth, while exploring guided questions and activities to deepen their engagement with the material.
  3. Participants will leave with actionable strategies and a workbook containing exercises to continue developing PsyCap traits, fostering resilience, motivation, and psychological well-being in their personal and professional lives.
