In September 2024, Hurricane Helene annihilated areas of western North Carolina, obliterating infrastructure, destroying homes, and causing the deaths of hundreds. Attendees will learn how a single, statewide ESInet prevailed during this 1000-year storm. The presenters will cover the technical makeup of the NG911 solution, 911 call routing options, challenges, and key success factors. Focus on the deployment of a statewide solution for 911 call delivery will be your takeaway.

Learning Objectives:

  1. Communication. The necessity of a strong governance structure, appointed leadership, and stakeholder engagement to formulate the vision for the creation of the strategic plan for implementation of an NG911 ecosystem to serve the geographically defined project and service area.
  2. Coordination. The criticality of ensuring the procurement and selection processes afford the opportunity to evaluate all vendor and agency partners necessary to establish the project team to implement the solution or solutions for 911 call delivery across the system.
  3. Collaboration. The value of forging and fortifying the many partnerships required to successfully execute the deployment plan to ensure the users of the 911 system receive lifesaving and emergency responses in the most efficient and timely manner.
