This session will highlight the importance of allowing trainees to make, identify, and correct mistakes in their learning process. We'll explore strategies for building confidence and independence, using positive reinforcement to encourage growth, and improving information retention in the fast-paced 911 environment. Additionally, we'll discuss when it's crucial to intervene, ensuring safety while providing valuable learning opportunities. By embracing mistakes, we can develop more capable and self-reliant team members, preparing them for the real-world challenges they'll face in emergency services.

- By the end of the session, attendees will be able to identify and explain at least three key benefits of allowing mistakes in training.
- By the end of this session, attendees will have been taught 5 ways to apply positive reinforcement in the training process. These communication strategies will help the trainer develop their training skills.
- By the end of this session, the attendees will have learned 4 training techniques to assist trainees in the retention of information presented to them during training.
